Nintendo’s Zelda Flipnote contest judged by Miyamoto

Recommended Videos

Nintendo is hosting a contest to celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 25th anniversary. They’re asking fans to use DSi’s Flipnote Studio to draw a Zelda-themed Flipnote animation. But the judges for the contest aren’t just some random PR people. Actually, series makers Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, Takashi Tezuka and Yoshiaki Koizumi will make up the judges panel. No pressure, though!

The contest page lays it all out: You’ll draw an animation using one of their Zelda soundtracks, post it online with all the other entrants from all over the world, and then wait until until the judges can look at them all, which Nintendo says will be October 14. Entries will accepted through September 9.

You can see a movie that shows off screenshots of some entries on the contest page. There’s already some really good stuff here! Nintendo has provided a video to teach you how to draw Toon Link to get you started. Also, don’t miss their official sample Flipnote.
