Nintendo’s Bill Trinen set to compete at EVO 2015

‘See you in Vegas’

Coming off of E3, we’ll be seeing even more of Nintendo’s Bill Trinen. The senior product marketing manager is signed up to participate in the Super Smash Bros. tournament at EVO later this month.

“Appreciate all the EVO support, but it’s my first tournament in a decade,” he said on Twitter. “The real stars are the guys coming out every week.” Trinen added that he hopes stories out of the event will focus on long-time players. “I’m there to support them.”

In the mean time, allow me to point out that American Idol winner Taylor Hicks played Super Smash Bros. Melee at EVO 2013 and tied for 257th place (which isn’t as bad as it sounds considering how big these tournaments are). Will Trinen fare better this year? “Doubt it,” Hicks replied.

What a time to be alive.
