One of which is releasing this year
Nintendo’s collaboration with Japanese mobile giant DeNA will result in one game by the end of 2015 and four more titles leading up to April 2017, according to DeNA West CEO Shintaro Asako.
“Nintendo has by far the best gaming IP,” he said at Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015. “DeNA’s expertise is definitely backend.” Asako pointed to Kim Kardashian: Hollywood (it’s a video game!) as an example of why this type of partnership can be potent in the mobile space.
“I understand some people like RPGs, casual games,” he said. “That’s why we decided to work together to create five games, hitting on different genre-utilizing IPs.”
One of these titles will surely be Mario themed. What else? Zelda?
