Nintendo reveals new ‘Classic Controller PRO’ for Wii

Not happy with your Classic Controller for the Wii? Too classic, maybe?

Here’s a solution: the Classic Controller PRO. Revealed on Nintendo’s Japanese Wii accessory Web site, the controller looks like a bulkier, fancier version of the standard Classic Controller. The controller also adds a second row of shoulder buttons, similar to the now-familiar DualShock set-up.

No details on pricing or release for North America, but it should ship to Japanese stores this Summer. Also unknown is why Nintendo feels the need to release an upgraded classic controller when current Virtual Console and WiiWare games don’t particularly call for it. What does Nintendo have up its sleeve?
