Nintendo has cancelled plans to launch its Wii U TVii service across Europe.

Due to the extremely complex nature of localising multiple television services across a diverse range of countries with varied licensing systems, regrettably we have taken the decision not to launch the Nintendo TVii service within the European region.”

The decree follows a series of delays, which the company ascribes to unexpected challenges. Trying to get the service up and running in so many countries must have been an organizational nightmare. There is the new Nintendo Anime Channel on 3DS, though. That’s something, at least.
