Ah, the Game Developers Conference. As press covering the event, we make it look somewhat exciting (maybe) with our stories, but it’s really just lectures, panels, and roundtables. We pull the interesting stuff out of that.
We’re interested to hear what Nintendo President Satoru Iwata will have to say at his keynote presentation at GDC 2009, set to take place March 23-27 in San Francisco. It won’t all be boring tech talk, we’re guessing. He was a speaker in 2005, and it was there that he gave the very first details of the “Revolution” console, which later became the Wii.
“Discovering New Development Opportunities” is the name of this year’s presentation, says the press release. We’re not going to read into that and throw out a crazy prediction like Nintendo’s next game system will be shaped like Kirby and float when you turn it on. No, we’re just going to show up, try to get a good seat, and hope to get a Wi-Fi connection.
Look forward to our GDC 2009 coverage in late March.
