Nintendo Labo now available for pre-order at some U.S retailers

Preparing for construction

Yesterday saw Nintendo raise many an eyebrow with the unveiling of their “New way to play” Nintendo Labo, essentially a range of cardboard construction kits designed to house the Nintendo Switch, turning it into a range of papercraft-style toys.

For anyone who cannot wait to punch out the perforated designs and turn the hybrid console into a… erm… piano, or something, the first two kits in the range are now available to pre-order at various U.S. retail sites, ahead of their April 2018 release.

The Variety Kit, costing $70, allows you to create most of the designs seen in the trailer, such as the House, Fishing Rod and RC Car. Also available at launch is the Robot Kit, which costs a little more at $80 but, to be fair, does turn you into a mech, weakened only by missile fire and light drizzle.

Nintendo Labo launches April 20, and is available to pre-order now from Amazon and GameStop.
