Satisfied with their E3 showing and proud of what Wii gamers can look forward to this holiday season, Nintendo decided that it may be in the best interest of everyone involved if they hold back a bit, and save something for the New Year’s glut. Speaking with CVG, they had this much to say:
“For the holidays we have a huge line-up of Wii games already, including Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Pokemon Battle Revolution. Fans will not be hurting for great games to play. One of the most common complaints is that the video game industry focuses only on the holidays and saves nothing for the first quarter,” Nintendo explains. “Mario Kart will fill that void, and we’re confident it will be a standout title.”
When quizzed about how the Wii is going to offer anything new to the series control wise, Nintendo pointed out that the Wi Wheel will be included with the game. If by some chance you end up without a wheel of your own, you can find a replacement for next to nothing, or you can still hold the Wiimote on its side for the same effect. I’m not too sure this is what Mario Kart fans wanted to hear, but at least you know there will be something left to play on the Wii, come the New Year.
