Nintendo is running an extra Gold Point promo for Mario Switch games

If you somehow don’t have these yet, now might be an OK time

Nintendo notoriously doesn’t hold sales that often for their first party games, nor do they actively engage in price-dropping their products on a regular basis. To get around that, you need to jump in on some of these releases during big sale periods: or find some other way to get a discount. Well, you can do that with a select few games

In honor of the Mario movie, Nintendo is running a promotion that deals with Mario (and tangentially Mario)-related games, through April 30 at 11:59PM PT. You’ll get 4x the Gold Points for buying these specific games, which range from Super Mario Odyssey to Toad’s Treasure Tracker. We have a full breakdown on how Gold Points work here.

As for our recommendations, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one of the few “current” games, as it has DLC gradually dropping throughout the year. Mario Odyssey is fantastic if you’ve somehow missed it, as is Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury: which is suited for four player couch co-op.
