Nintendo gently reminds us it’s closing the DSi store forever

No more DSi Points after September 30

Recommended Videos

Earlier this year, Nintendo told us that they would eventually close the DSiWare shop, and we all kind of quietly pushed that notion aside and ignored it. Well, they’re reminding us yet again this week, noting that on September 30, 2016, you will no longer be able to purchase points, until a full closure on March 17, 2017. The publisher recommends that you offload everything onto the 3DS, but even then that doesn’t cover everything.

Having used the DSi shop for a bit with the short-lived DSi, I found it to be a decent precursor to the eShop, and it will be missed. Say what you will about it, but at the very least it played nice with the 3DS, as opposed to the unholy abomination that is WiiWare.
