Nintendo DLC Update: Final Fantasy, tanks, and words

Recommended Videos

A bright spot on a dreary Monday, Nintendo has updated the offerings on its various digital download services. This week delivers a bite-size of fantasy, and even some a touch of word search action to awake the elderly person in you.

The original Final Fantasy is the Virtual Console release this week. Priced at 500 Wii Points, this NES classic has been re-released a billion times over the last century, but for whatever reason, people keep purchasing it. In the game, you play as an 8-bit adventurer searching for a magical crystal that belongs in a museum. Expect to die a lot, because that’s all I’ve ever done in this FF original.

The DSiWare download is an actual game — not a clock. It’s called Thorium Wars (500 Wii Bones), an action game that puts you in control of various futuristic tanks and such in a battle against bad dudes in tanks and such. The trailer makes it look better than it sounds.

Lastly, the WiiWare title of the week is Word Searcher. It’s a word search puzzle game priced at 500 Wii Points. Awesome.

As always, hit the break to check out the babble and feel free to discuss.
