Nintendo DLC: STREET SLAM

Recommended Videos

Seeing old Neo Geo games pop up on the Wii’s Virtual Console is always great. For me, I’d rather nab these over another copy of some Nintendo game I already have two other versions of. This week’s downloadable update brings a new Neo Geo title to the Wii VC: Street Slam.

Street Slam (900 Wii Points) is a basketball title that features 3-on-3 play. It has over-the-top moves and arcade action — think of it as an early NBA JAM. The opening cinematic is pretty crazy, as are the slam dunk animations and sound effects. It seems like a nice one to add to the collection. I think it would be good to break out when friends are over.

There’s only two WiiWare titles this week: Robox and Gene Labs. Robox (1,000 Wii Points) is a game where you play as a space exploratory probe that had to crash land, and now has to look for parts to complete its mission. Gene Labs (500 Wii Points) is a puzzle title that has you injecting infected cells with anti-virus injections. Weird.

DSiWare also gets a version of Gene Labs (200 DSi Points) as well as two others. Peg Solitare (500 points) is seriously that little game with the woodblock, holes, and pegs, where you jump other pegs with your own to clear the board. This digital version has five levels and 41 stages of peg pushing. Super Baby Paul, the Ultimate Pacifier, stars in sidescroller Paul’s Shooting Adventure (200 DSi Points). This sounds amazing.
