Nintendo DLC: Darklord, Battle Poker, more ArtStyle for DSi

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord (1 player, 1,000 Wii Points) makes its way to WiiWare today. The sequel to My Life as a King, the tower defense style game features a bit of a twist — instead of protecting your fortresses from the baddies, you are the baddie. As Mira, the daughter of the Darklord, you get to deploy all manner of monsters to defend your tower from those stupid, dumb, and ugly good guys.

Other WiiWare options today include Battle Poker (1-4 players, 800 Wii Points) and 5 Spots Party (1-4 Players 500 Wii Points). Battle Poker is relatively self-explanatory, a four-player card game that requires you to mix the basic rules of poker with fast reflexes in order to win. 5 Spot Party sounds like some kind of STD-checking get-together, it’s one of those “here are two pictures, find the differences” games I remember fondly from Highlights for Children magazine. Or that touch game you play in bars with the two (or nine) naked chicks, and one of them is missing a nipple or a shoe in one of the two pictures.

Right.

DSiWare gets its next wave of ArtStyle games with ArtStyle: ZENGAGE (1 player, 500 DSiPoints), another unique puzzle title in the series. The game features a cell-sliding/core-matching mechanic that spans over 100 levels.

Me, I’m probably going to go out on a limb and pick up the ZENGAGE, as I haven’t been disappointed by an ArtStyle game yet. They’re always unique, perfect bits of quick gaming for the right price. Are you spending any Nintendo Points this week?
