Not Wolf Link, Wolf…dig?

Just moments ago I was musing on the topic of scant amiibo news has been in the past year. Ladies and gentlemen: we have amiibo news.

Nintendo has just confirmed (by way of their official “Versus” Twitter account) the launch dates for the Ridley (the newcomer), Inkling (note: counting Splatoon 1+2 this is the fourth iteration of an Inkling Girl amiibo), and Wolf (of Star Fox fame) amiibo, which are now set to coincide with the worldwide release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on December 7. They’ll retail for $15.99. Daisy, Pichu and Ice Climbers are on the way but were not mentioned in the tweet.

Put a little more vaguely, Nintendo has also reconfirmed the original Super Smash Bros. amiibo line reprints, stating that “many” will arrive later this year at $12.99, the original pricepoint for the figures. In Japan we have solid confirmation that in that region every single figure will get a reprint and even have segmented dates for their launch, but this “many” comment could signal that not every toy will be making it west. We’ve reached out to Nintendo to be sure, and you can bet scalpers are already readying their algorithms and trigger fingers while fans prepare to import.
