Ninja Gaiden 3 launches March 20 with collector’s edition

Tecmo Koei has announced a launch date for Ninja Gaiden 3, along with a collector’s edition and pre-order bonuses. The controversial post-Itagaki action title will arrive in stores on March 20 for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The collector’s edition contains a Dead or Alive 5 demo stage featuring four playable characters, and art book, soundtrack CD and “Duel of the Mask” figure. This package will cost $99.99 and is exclusive to GameStop and EB Games.

Pre-ordering the game at either of those stores will net the Dead or Alive 5 demo stage, but if you buy the regular edition of the game, you get two characters instead of four.

I’m keeping some skeptical interest in the game, but it’s definitely generated mixed feelings among the people I know who have played it. Hopefully it turns out well, because I really dig the narrative direction Team Ninja is taking.
