NieR’s English teaser trailer is just a woman swearing

Okay, this is one of the strangest teaser videos I’ve ever seen. It contains no game footage. It actually contains no real video at all. It’s just the game’s logo, while a woman — the intersex quasi-demon girl known as Kane — repeatedly hurls abuse and swears at a book. 

Yeah … this is strange. The strength of the language is also something that is quite unbecoming of a Square Enix game, and not what I’d have expected from such a strongly Japanese game. I’ve heard the F-word in all sorts of games and it doesn’t really matter, but the tone of language is uniquely surprising in this case. Sounds like we’ve got a definite M-rating on our hands. 

Anyway, if you want to hear a woman shouting all sorts of verbal rage, then watch the “video.”
