Even though we were properly excited for an HD update to Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio, we were a bit worried about the soundtrack, which Sega said would be difficult to keep intact for licensing reasons.
Today we’ve learned that Sega has successfully cleared the rights for just about all of the soundtracks worldwide, meaning that almost all of the Japanese, European and North American soundtracks are intact. We’re only missing “Yappie Feet” and a song called “Many Styles” from the PAL version. But that’s it!
The real plus here is that this international soundtrack combination gives us more music for Jet Set Radio HD’s soundtrack than any of the single-region originals. This is a win for JSR and game music fans everywhere. Nice work, Sega.
