Looking forward to a brand new Legend of Zelda for home consoles? According to Nintendo head honcho Satoru Iwata, you won’t have to wait that long. The president has confirmed that the next big Zelda game is due to release before the end of 2010, which means we in the West may very well get the thing in time for Christmas.
It all depends, of course, on when Japan gets it, since Nintendo’s never been a big fan of worldwide launches. Nevertheless, it’s still earlier than I’d have anticipated it, and this would seem to indicate that we’ll be seeing much more of the mysterious new Zelda title at E3.
Frankly, given Nintendo’s commitment to things that make their long-term fans unhappy, I didn’t expect to see a new console Zelda until 2011, so this is a pleasant surprise. Can’t wait to find out more about it, since a brand new Zelda is always fine by me. What about you lot?
