New Wii game makes with the battle cries ‘n decapitations

The game is Zangeki no Reginliev, the first M-rated title (or at least, the Japanese equivalent of that rating) to be published by Nintendo of Japan. It was developed by the creators of the Xbox 360 cult-classic Earth Defense Force 2017, and features 4 player online co-op.

It looks pretty fun. It’s a relief that the game isn’t on-rails as previously reported. The motion and pointer controls appear to be well implemented, and the violence looks to be constant and appropriately over-the-top. Even better is the game’s audio. I wouldn’t normally post such a blurry video, but it just sounds so awesome. I’ve had it playing in the background all night as I’ve been working on other stuff, and it made me feel like I had my own personal all male Japanese cheerleading squad. “YUSHA!” is right.

I really hope this game comes to the states, and I really hope it’s not dubbed. A Fatal Frame 4-style translation patch wouldn’t be bad either.

Two more videos await you after the jump.
