New videos have me marking out for Legends of Wrestlemania

Recommended Videos

OK, these new WWE Legends of Wrestlemania videos are great. After the jump, there’s some footage of the game’s Create-a-Legend mode, which looks nearly identical to what we’ve seen in the Smackdown vs. Raw games.

But the video above? Oh man, the video above has really tickled whatever bone it is that makes me want to play this game. (Not that bone, you weirdo.) It shows off some of the game’s managers — Bobby Heenan, Paul Bearer, “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart — and it’s bringing back a ton of memories. Paul Bearer even has the iconic urn, which he seemingly is using to give a “classic” Undertaker back his “powers.”

I played the game for about 15 minutes at NY Comic Con, where THQ was showing it off to the public. Despite it being billed as an arcade-style wrestling game, it was actually more confusing to play than Smackdown vs. Raw 2009. The controls seem completely overhauled, with a series of crazy quicktime button presses that left me unsure what was going on.

But I’m going to give the game another chance, because Yokozuna vs. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania X simply must be relived in my living room.

Legends of Wrestlemania is set to ship for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this March.
