New Super Mario Bros Wii is one of the finest games released in the past few years, I’d say. Brilliant game. It’s a perfect example of what happens when game makers get back to basics.

Nintendo has had a few million sellers recently with the Wii, but New Super Mario Bros Wii has hit the four million mark, making it a quadruple platinum seller in Japan. Enterbrain’s numbers show that as of Sunday the game has sold 4,001,276 copies. NSMBW was already the system’s best seller back in March with 3.5 million sold, but now it’s the first to cross the four million mark, says Andria Sang.

Congrats, Nintendo. Now make more.
