New Rise of the Tomb Raider trailer shows off highly unsafe climbing practices

Full reveal at Microsoft’s E3 briefing

Lara Croft reaches the top of the ice wall after a probably-should-be-dead experience. She has several carabiners attached to her belt. Why didn’t she use them on her way up? Granted, it wouldn’t have helped if all of her anchor points were attached to the parts of the wall that crumbled away, but it still would have been wise.

The trailer above also invokes the likes of Amelia Earhart and (maybe) Captain Robert Scott, both known for daring to go where few had gone before and losing their lives in the process. I can’t help but wonder if that’s a hint for what’s to come for the notorious tomb raider Lara Croft. Crystal Dynamics can’t kill her, right?

More information will be revealed for the timed Xbox exclusive action game at Microsoft’s E3 press conference on June 15.
