New rating suggests Path of Exile is destined for PS4

Right on cue

Fans have long hoped for a quality console port of the action-RPG Path of Exile. Just over a year ago, Xbox One players got their wish. Now, there’s a glimmer of hope that PlayStation 4 users are up next.

As reported by Gematsu, the Digital Game Rating Committee in Taiwan has posted a listing for Grinding Gear’s Path of Exile on PS4. There are no other details to glean and we don’t know what the release timeline might be like, but there it is: one of the better games in the genre seems to be PS4 bound.

It’s worth reiterating that Grind Gear Games was busy working on the Chinese version of Path of Exile earlier this year and that while the studio is still independently run, Tencent has acquired a majority stake. A PS4 port seems inevitable, but I’m curious to learn how far out it could realistically be.

I mean, if Diablo III can make it over to Nintendo Switch, anything’s possible.
