New PS3 custom firmware bricking 60 GB consoles

Recommended Videos

The PS3 jailbreak fallout just keeps on coming, with the latest incident serving to demonstrate how careful gamers must be when they try to mess with their systems. A new custom firmware has been released, and it’s bricking 60 GB consoles left and right. Oh dear.

Custom firmware v3.55 has killed quite a few launch PS3s as people rushed to “back up” (lol) their games without waiting to see if the thing actually works. Even when it was discovered that the firmware is utterly broken, people were still bricking their consoles because they weren’t reading whole forum threads.

This should serve as a warning to all people who want to “back up” (lol) their games using custom firmware. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, and idiots brick their PS3s where rational people wait for the morons to screw up. In other words … be careful!
