New PAX-flavored RE:DC videos go for the Oscar

OK, I’ll be upfront, I prefer “bad” videogame acting to “good” videogame acting. The voice work in games like Shenmue and the original Resident Evil is endlessly entertaining to me, where the polished, Hollywood caliber stuff of the GTA games just leaves me cold.

That’s why these two new Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles trailers make me so happy. In the first vid, Claire and Leon openly agree to not pull guns on each other, then become mildly alarmed at the site of multiple undead cannibals. Things get even better in video two, where (spoiler!) the late, great Steve Burnside manages to rattle off four one liners in two seconds.

Yep, that’s a Resident Evil game alright.

As usual, the graphics for RE:DC looks fantastic and the classic RE2 and RE:CV scenarios continue to bring back fond memories. On-rails or not, this game is legit (trust me on this, I’ve played it). Hit the jump for the videos and see for yourself, and look for RE:DC in stores later this year.
