New Overwatch comic fills in the Retribution event backstory

Another messy affair for Blackwatch

Blizzard have released the latest issue of the Overwatch comic. The new story, Retribution, is a short prologue to next week’s PvE event, which was revealed yesterday during Stage 3 of the Overwatch League.

In the latest issue Gabriel Reyes, the man who would be Reaper, prepares his Blackwatch team, comprised of himself, McCree, Genji and Moira to prepare for yet another “dirty-hands” mission, the kind Blackwatch were designed for. In this case, the team are preparing to abduct a high-ranking Talon member, known simply as “Antonio.”

As always, the latest issue available to read online, free of charge. If you haven’t given the Overwatch comic a shot, I’d recommend it. The stories are breezy but interesting, fill in some great lore gaps such as real names, backstories and political leanings, and the artwork isn’t too bad either.

You can check out Retribution, and all previous issues, right here. Overwatch’s Uprising and Retribution events begin on all platforms April 10.
