New Nintendo tweet implies Bowser’s Fury is playable right away

‘At any time’

Yesterday, we learned a whole lot about the next big Nintendo Switch title: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

Due out in the middle of February, this game is actually part re-release (with a few bells and whistles like online co-op) and partly new. That latter bit is the “Bowser’s Fury” part of the moniker, which sees Mario and Bowser Jr. teaming up to calm down an extremely pissed and menacing Bowser.

However, another tweet from the Japanese 35th anniversary Mario account has given us a tad more info on how you’ll access it with the following message: “[Bowser’s Fury] can be selected from the title screen, and you can enjoy your favorite mode at any time. Which adventure do you start with?”

“Which adventure [will] you start with” seems clear: you can select it right away without having played 3D World. While this is assumed with modern re-releases (and has been the case with the “plus [x]” titles like Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey), it’s always great to have it confirmed. A lot of folks will definitely want to go right into the new hotness.
