New Invoker class brings the thunder to Remnant 2

Nature magic aficionados rejoice.

Remnant 2’s second DLC, titled The Forgotten Kingdom, is just around the corner. Last week, we learned about most of what’s coming in The Forgotten Kingdom, but a new trailer now has details on the Invoker Archetype. Let’s dive in and see what this new class has to offer.

What does the Invoker do?

The Invoker Archetype harnesses the spirits of Yaesha to unleash nature-based skills and abilities. The trailer showcases lightning strikes and tidal waves that remind me of shaman classes in other games.

Invoker appears to be a flexible support Archetype that can enhance the abilities of other classes it’s paired with. The mix of teammate healing/support and enemy debuffs could make it an effective co-op option.

Prime Perk: Visionary

The Invoker’s Prime Perk reduces skill cooldowns by 10% and grants double skill charges for all equipped skills. This means that, if you have Invoker in your first class slot, you can spam your secondary class’ skill too.

Skill 1: Way of Kaeula

The Invoker’s first skill, Way of Kaeula, summons a rainstorm. Enemies in the rainstorm are slowed and receive periodic damage from lightning strikes, while teammates receive Haste. On cast, it also summons a tidal wave that rushes forward and deals damage to enemies along its path.

Skill 2: Way of Meidra

The Invoker’s second skill is called Way of Meidra, and creates a field of flowers. These flowers aren’t just pretty, though — enemies in this field take increased elemental damage while teammates gain healing and lifesteal.

Skill 3: Way of Lydusa

The third skill, Way of Lydusa, seems to be the most offensive. With this skill, the Invoker increases Critical Chance and Critical Damage. Continuing to attack breaks off parts of the enemy and allows the Invoker to cast an AoE attack called Sandblast.

Archetype Trait: Gifted

The Invoker’s Trait, Gifted, increases skill duration. This affects secondary class skills too, further increasing Invoker’s synergy with other classes.

When does Invoker come to Remnant 2?

The Invoker Archetype releases together with The Forgotten Kingdom DLC on April 23, 2024.

The Forgotten Kingdom is available on its own for $9.99. The Remnant 2 DLC Bundle includes The Forgotten Kingdom, The Awakened King, and a third DLC coming later this year for $24.99. The Ultimate Edition of Remnant 2 includes all DLC, so if you’ve shelled out on the Ultimate Edition, you’ll be able to play The Forgotten Kingdom as soon as it releases.
