New Guitar Hero game hits App Store

At today’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco, Activision revealed a new version of Guitar Hero for the iPhone.

The game features “classic” Guitar Hero gameplay, designed around the touch-screen interface of the iPhone — this includes tapping mechanics, as well as a new strum system. The title features music from Queen, The Rolling Stones, Vampire Weekend, Rise Against, and more. Players will be able to customize their rocker, hopping into a virtual photo booth to share the look with friends.

Guitar Hero for the iPhone should be available today on the App Store for $2.99. The game features six playable songs, with other tracks available by downloaded, including songs by Darkest Hour, Breaking Benjamin and (holy crap) Dillinger Escape Plan.
