New Alan Wake screens: Old bikers playing with toys

With Alan Wake finally dated, I’m running out of things to say about it beyond “Give it here. Now.”

Yeah, these screenshots look good, but they’re nothing we haven’t seen before. Trees, a cabin, a lake, some foggy environments… a flashlight. Actually, upon a second glance… are those two bikers playing with children’s toys? I mean, your guess is as good as mine as to what’s going on here, but the biker on the right seems to be holding one of those “squeaky hammers” children play with.

“They might be playing Squeaky Chess,” suggests Jim Sterling. “Sometimes in chess, you hit a clock after every move, right? Maybe they bang a squeaky hammer.”

I certainly hope that’s a mini-game. Alan Wake hits shelves on May 18.
