Netflix streaming now possible in Canada with PS3

Hey, it’s about time. Our Canadian readers should be very pleased to hear that as of today, they can stream TV shows and movies to their PlayStation 3s and other compatible devices by way of Netflix streaming.

$7.99 is the monthly charge, which is reasonable — they’ve really stepped up the selection quality in recent months. Once you have an account, look for the Netflix icon underneath the video icon on the XMB. That’s right, you don’t need a disc like those of us living elsewhere.

Support for Wii and Xbox 360 streaming isn’t quite ready. As soon as you order a free disc from Netflix, you can get started with the former, however the 360 won’t be functional until sometime this fall.
