When Electronic Arts released NBA Jam as a full retail title for Wii and then later Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it seemed like a bit of a marketing mistake. The game itself was good and fun in spurts, but its dated gameplay didn’t really hold up to the expectations of a full retail experience.
With NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, EA seems to be doing it right. That game it tried to sell folks for $49.99 in a box is coming back as a digital title for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. It also seems like it may be a more full-featured, better game than the original. There’s all new team-based “on fire,” a new online co-op campaign, roster updates, enhanced AI, and more.
It’s not going to cost an arm and a leg this time around — it’s only $14.99 or 1200 MS Points. Sounds good to me.
