Naughty Dog will be shuttering the servers for all of its PS3 titles this September. In an advanced notice on Twitter, the company revealed that multiplayer modes for Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us will be coming to a close on September 3, 2019, at 5:00 pm PST. To let people get the fullest experience before the modes go away, all DLC for each title will be free until the shutdown.

It’s been roughly 10 years since Uncharted 2 hit PS3’s and firmly cemented the legendary status of the series. While I’ve had ups and downs with the games since then, it’s hard to deny that Nathan Drake’s return was monumental in 2009. It was a game unlike any other that pushed the fidelity of Sony’s box well beyond what we expected from video games. While not every aspect holds up to scrutiny, it was a real trip to play what felt like a Hollywood action movie in an era riddled with Call of Duty copycats.

I never bought into the DLC for that game, but now I really have no excuse. My friend and I loved Naughty Dog’s take on Horde Mode, so we may have to fire it up for old time’s sake. You can find Uncharted 2’s DLC here, Uncharted 3’s here, and The Last of Us’ here.
