Naughty Dog, Insomniac hand over reins for NGP titles

Sony’s PlayStation Portable successor, the NGP, is already looking to be supported by a slew of popular franchises.

Among them are Insomniac’s Resistance and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted; the impressive portable versions of both games were demonstrated at Sony’s Tokyo NGP event this week. But neither studio will be working directly on the titles, its been confirmed.

Insomniac has revealed via its Twitter account that Nihilistic Software, the folks behind the upcoming PlayStation Move Heroes title for PlayStation 3 will be working on the all new portable Resistance title.

Sony Bend, on the other hand, will be handling Nathan Drake’s adventures on the go. Bend has a long history of developing solid PlayStation Portable games for existing franchise; Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow and Resistance: Retribution were both impressive showings, for instance.

It’s expected that both titles have plenty of input from their respective mommies and daddies, so fans of both franchises should have nothing to worry about.
