Native Netflix app coming to PS3 next week

Trash dumps nationwide should be on high alert next week — Sony has announced that starting on October 18, there will no longer be a need for those Netflix streaming discs. A native application for the streaming video service will be available directly from the system’s Xross Media Bar. 

The application will also bring with it a number of enhancements, including support for Dolby Digital Plus 5.1-channel surround sound, a new user interface, and swifter playback time.
