Holy ’90s, Batman.

Nintendo has announced that Napster, the now-legitimate streaming music service, will be coming to the Wii U eShop as a free app on December 17. A 30-day free trial is available, but after that, you’ll have to fork over a subscription fee. A promotion is going on now that nets you three months for $1, and after that, it’s $9.99 a month.

For those who aren’t in the know, after its shutdown in 2001, Napster has been necroed by a few companies, most recently Best Buy. A few years back the company merged with Rhapsody, but they’re keeping the brand around for whatever reason.
