We can all agree that Final Fantasy XIV got off to a bit of a rough start, but anyone who’s played the game now can attest to its progress. After “restructuring” the team and bringing in Naoki Yoshida they’ve made great strides in building XIV up to what what many had hoped it would be. As they continue to move forward, Square Enix is getting the user base directly involved and taking questions/suggestions to make sure they nail down exactly what the players want to see.
Last week they held a live Q&A session with Yoshida where they addressed countless questions and offered a bit of insight on the MMOs progressions. Plans for party support, races, mounts, endgame content, Yoshidoa’s hobbiesa bit of an explanation for why it’s been such a long process, and a smattering of banter between Yoshida and brief special guest Yoichi Wada.
Square tweeted some of the more noteworthy questions and while there’s some good stuff to be found there, the full 90 minute Q&A can be found below. Don’t forget to turn on the closed caption function unless, that is, you speak Japanese.
It’s interesting to hear that they’ve only reached about 50% completion in their planned content. While the game may have faced some issues at launch and plenty of fans lost faith in the project, it’s reassuring to see how much effort they’re putting into its resuscitation.
