Namco trademarks God Eater, not to be confused with magic

Recommended Videos

When Namco recently trademarked the name God Eater, the first thing I thought of was the book The Beast of Revelations: Comments on the God Eater by famous occult writer Aleister Crowley. I’m pretty sure Namco doesn’t have anything quite as extreme as Crowley’s vision of the God Eater in mind, but you never know, I guess.

That being said, the name conjures up visions of dark locales to explore and a possibly equally mysterious story. Who knows what Namco may have in mind, or if we’ll even see this trademark come to light in the form of a game … but it’s fun to speculate.
