Namco Bandai details San Diego Comic-Con plans

San Diego Comic-Con is steadily approaching. Namco Bandai will be there with its usual fighting game and anime-based wares. Here’s what is in store for this year’s convention.

Saturday, July 23 in room 25 A, B, and C

  • Sneak peek at Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D, a preview of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, and more on Soulcalibur V.

July 21 – 24, 9:30am to show close, Mezzanine level 17 A and B

  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Arcade, hands-on with Tekken Tag Tournament HD and Tekken 6, in addition to multiple tournaments each day.

  • Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact, and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations will be on display.

SATURDAY JULY 23rd 4:00pm-5:00pm – A VIP Look at the Upcoming Entries in NAMCO BANDAI’s Multimillion-Selling Fighting Games— Director Katsuhiro Harada discusses the development of Tekken across Transmedia entertainment, including a sneak peek at the Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D movie with special guests Blood Vengeance screenwriter Dai Sato and two voice actresses from the movie, Carrie Keranen and Cristina Vee. Producer Hiroshi Matsuyama unveils details and a preview of NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM Generations, and producer Hisaharu Tago shows the latest on Soulcalibur V. NAMCO BANDAI vice president of marketing Carlson Choi and community manager Richard Bantegui (aka @Filthierich) lead the discussion to offer insights on the creative process and development of fighting games in this era. Room 25ABC

JULY 21st-24th 9:30AM to Show Close – Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Arcade, Early hands-on of Tekken Tag Tournament HD , Tekken 6 @ Mezzanine level 17 A,B – Come one come all to the Official SDCC TEKKEN TOURNAMENT featuring a $20,000 Prize Pool and other assorted gift prizing. Entrance to the tournament is free and first come first served until all brackets are filled. With 3 tournaments running each day, there will be plenty of chances to test your mettle. A live steam from the room will be running all weekend long for fans that cannot attend, featuring live play-by-play commentary By SDTEKKEN’s Mark “MARKMAN” Julio & NBGA’s Richard “FilthieRich” Bantegui.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet the developers from the Tekken Project Team and Project Soul Team while getting their first chance to play Tekken Tag HD.

JULY 21st-24th 9:30AM to Show Close – NARUTO and Dragon Ball Z @ NAMCO BANDAI Games America Booth #5136 – All SDCC attendees are invited to get their very first up close and personal hands-on look at the action from two of the most exciting franchises in anime and fighting game history!  Don’t miss an early sneak peek at Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi making its North American debut on the floor allowing fans to deliver the kamehameha long before it hits store shelves on October 25th, 2011 for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360. Still looking for more? Fans will also get a chance to try-out BOTH of the upcoming CyberConnect2-developed games based on the worldwide phenomenon known as NARUTO.  The upcoming NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja Impact for the PSP system will be on hand for fans to check out the dynamic blend of action and strategy before it launches in Fall 2011. And last but not least, the upcoming NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM Generations will also be ready for fans to get a sneak peek before it launches on home consoles in 2012!  YOSHA!!!
