Nab the original Splinter Cell on PC for free

Don’t mind if I do

Ubisoft has begun gifting PC games from its back catalog in celebration of its 30th anniversary. This month, the free offering is Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. You can grab your copy right here and redeem it through Uplay, assuming you can remember your login details. I’m trying to recall mine now.

At the time of Splinter Cell‘s release back in 2002, from the outside looking in, I found the game to be very intimidating. Part of that was my general inability to play the stealth genre well up to that point and my resulting unease, but I distinctly remember the box art, screenshots, and trailers giving off an extra potent “You’re gonna mess up real bad” sort of vibe.

I’d be curious to see how the game holds up nowadays.
