Myst DS features a new Age to tumble into

I’m not actually sure if anyone cares about this release but me, but that’s not going to keep me from rambling about it like a maniac every chance I get. While we already knew the Myst DS would utilize both screens and offer a new set of tools to solve the game’s intricate puzzles, news emerged recently that the game would include a new Age not in the original, the Rime Age.

Rime has been seen before (it was accessible in Real Myst, hidden in a puzzle on Myst island.) The Age is an uninhibited snow world, which Age writer Atrus created to experiment with crystals he had found possessed the same elements as linking books. Rime is supposed to be one of the last Ages he ever wrote.

Myst DS comes out in the first quarter 2008. Hit the jump to see the full press release.
