My name is Chris Carter and I’m one of your new co-EICs

In the morning hours

Hey Destructoid! As you may have heard, Jonathan Holmes is stepping down as editor-in-chief. Because of this, our overlord Niero has decided to split the position into multiple shifts. I’ll be handling the US mornings and early afternoons, then Jordan will run the late afternoons and evenings, with Laura taking over in the UK hours — the three EICs of Destructoid. It’s basically the same as what I’ve been doing already, but it’s still exciting!

I’ll still be in charge of reviews, with a few extra duties in tow. I’ll also be working with Kyle, Darren, and Brett M to make the site a better place in the mornings after the UK crew has done its thing. My goals are to increase our presence with MMOs, MOBAs, and eSports, which I’ve been working towards since the beginning of this year. I’m also still completely free to write about what I love most as a gamer, which is the games themselves, plain and simple.

It’s absolutely crazy that just a few years back, I was brought on as a contributor before eventually working my butt off to get here, but I wouldn’t have been able to do that without the support of the community.
