MW3 and Warzone CODMAS holiday maps, explained

Players will be able to enjoy the holiday festivities during the MW3 and Warzone CODMAS event for only a short couple of weeks. The event will stay live from December 19, 2023 through January 3, 2024. During this time, players can check out new content throughout both games, including new holiday variants of existing maps.

On the multiplayer side, players have five new holiday maps to look forward to. Shipmas gives a cheery vibe to the usual tiny Shipment map, while Hangover turns Highrise into a luxury New Year’s Eve party. There are also some odd horror maps as well, such as the remixed version of Rust known as Tetanus. It gives this location an Area 51-esque toxic feel to it with the neon green lights everywhere.

Scrapyard gets its own version known as Sporeyard, which looks gorgeous with its luminescent mushroom forest all over the plane wreckage. Then there is Satan’s Quarry in which this marble stone location gets a hellish vibe to it.

New game modes

In addition to the new map variants, players have some intriguing game modes to check out as well. This includes Infectious Holiday, which plays out pretty similarly to the regular Infection mode. The only difference this time around is the zombies look more like Krampus than anything else.

Snowfight gives Gunfight a SpongeBob SquarePants twist as teams of two use snowballs to eliminate each other, instead of the usual weapon loadout. Meanwhile for battle royale fans, Slay Ride Resurgence is a special respawn-based mode in which the train in Urzikstan has Santa taking it over. Battle against him and take over his slay to gain some special in-game rewards.

Rewards and challenges

Of course, a new event like the MW3 and Warzone CODMAS holiday extravaganza would not be complete without some new rewards and skins. There are plenty of these, both paid and free, for players to collect. There is the Santa Gnaws operator skin, where players can look like Krampus himself. Plus, you get some weapon blueprints and other goodies for 2,800 CoD Points.

There are also the Santa’s Slayground challenges. There are seven challenges across both multiplayer and battle royale with different objectives with eight rewards in total. Players have the ability to unlock free items like the Underbaker emblem, some double XP tokens, and even the Ugliest Sweater weapon blueprint. Most of the challenges involve checking out the new holiday game modes and map variants.
