Motorstorm: 3D Rift gets ESRB’d

What is Motorstorm: 3D Rift? I know it’s a 3D game, but this isn’t an announced title. The ESRB let it slip with a new description today. Here’s what they say about it:

This is an extreme off-road racing game in which players choose various vehicles (monster trucks, ATVs and motorcycles) to compete across harsh landscapes and rocky terrain against other racers. Players can collide and crash into other players, sometimes causing vehicles to explode into pieces. When motorcycle riders are knocked off their bikes, they can sometimes be run over by passing vehicles. During some races, riders can taunt each other using various hand gestures, including raising a middle finger in the air.

If this name reminds you of another game, it’s likely Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. They could be related. It could be that someone in marketing said that they needed “3D” in the game’s name. Siliconera points out that the ESRB’s description for this game is similar.

Whatever this game ends up being, with this and the announced Motorstorm: Apocalypse, we’re going to be all Motorstormed out.
