What does Mossberry do in Hollow Knight: Silksong?

As a cryptic metroidvania, Hollow Knight: Silksong often gives you items you have no idea what to do with. It’s the usual Soulslike formula: piece things together yourself.

In one of the early stages of the game, you’ll uncover an item called Mossberry, which you’ll probably be puzzled about. Its purpose is actually pretty simple, though, so here’s everything you need to know.

What is Mossberry in Hollow Knight: Silksong?

Mossberries are a quest item found in the game’s initial area, the Mosshome. They are green bulbous orbs often carried by other bugs, which you have to defeat to acquire. They are tied to a particular character in Mosshome, the Moss Druid. She can be found by accessing the area past the Map Merchant in The Marrow, particularly its right side.

Once you’ve reached the Moss Druid, she will offer you a Berry Picking quest, which you have to Promise to fulfill. You then have to collect three of these Mossberries and bring them back to her, which will give you a reward.
