A new trailer has been unearthed for Mortal Kombat, detailing the “Challenge Tower” and all its nefarious offerings.
This new mode has a selection of silly mini-games and special missions that find new ways to implement the game’s fight engine. A new game is Test Your Luck, in which a slot reel determines your opponent, bonuses and limitations in an upcoming match. Like Final Fantasy VII‘s arena mode, only more violent.
I’ve always admired Mortal Kombat‘s desire to be more than just a fighting game. Previous titles have often added these cool bonuses and humorous extras that give it a ton of variety and help it stand out from the pack.
