Mortal Kombat 11 will reveal its mystery DLC kombatants later this month

Squeaky wheel gets the grease… I guess?

In a bold tweet, NetherRealm Studios has released a short teaser announcing that, later this month, they will reveal the mystery DLC kombatants headed to Mortal Kombat 11 as part of the game’s season pass.

The announcement includes a short video filled with, frankly, a bunch of pretty rude tweets from fans, complaining that they aren’t being given DLC information fast enough. This is accompanied by the apologetic message from the studio “We’ll be better” and a date for the reveal, August 21. Many replies to this tweet just feature further complaints and demands about other matters, alongside people gleefully proud that their own personal complaints made it into the video.

Honestly, this is a bit of an oddity to me. Some of these fans are seemingly stoked that their incessant complaining about something as superfluous as DLC dates earned them some kind of on-screen recognition – “Look, there’s me calling them a bunch of fuckers for only showing Nightwolf’s boot!” – let alone the fact that there are more pressing issues concerning MK 11 right now, from a technical/balance standpoint.

Still, you can’t please any of the people, any of the time. Who do you think the two mystery kombatants will turn out to be? Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
