Peter Jackson presents? Sold.

No need to watch this trailer beyond the first 10 seconds, but if you do, you may be wondering how she could possibly need binoculars to see something that big, that close. There’s no explanation other than it worked as a shot.

Peter Jackson isn’t directing this adaptation of Philip Reeve’s 2001 novel of the same name, but his good buddy Christian Rivers is–this guy has been managing visual effects and 2nd units for Jackson since the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. He’s definitely got the heft to make this tale of mobile steampunk cities work in his directorial debut. As far as teaser trailers go, this one provides plenty to get the juices going.

Excited? Get ready to wait a year. London comes calling on December 14, 2018.
