We’re gonna need a bigger R.V.

Roving reporter Morgana is back, with the latest scoops on Atlus’ upcoming hack ‘n’ slash title Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. This latest video takes a look at some of the locations featured in the new spin-off adventure, and introduces us to newcomer Zenkichi Hasegawa.

Possible spoilers ahead

The fifth entry in Morgana’s report series sees our favourite heart-stealers stopping off at two of Japan’s most popular cities, Kyoto and Osaka, on their cross-country trip to right the wrongs of this world. Of surprise to nobody, both cities will see Joker and Co. come up against powerful foes, with another trip to the metaverse required in order to clear their hearts and minds of terrible thoughts and deeds.

Most intriguingly, The Phantom Thieves will meet Zenkichi Hasegawa, an attractive and well-dressed young man who will become the newest member of the vigilante group. Under his pseudonym of “Wolf,” and guided by the persona Valjean, Zenkichi will face down shadows with a combination of longsword and gun skills, while packing abilities that can bolster the strength of his allies. Design-wise, he very much reminds me of the classic anime Vampire Hunter D.

The report concludes with the revelation of a playable demo, which will arrive in Japan on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch on February 6, ahead of the official release. Unfortunately, western fans are still waiting on the confirmation of a localisation, but I would be very surprised if a western release isn’t on the cards.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers launches in Japan on  February 20 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
