I feel bad for PR firms that work for game publishers. They can spend years planning the perfect launch announcement for an upcoming game, only to have the ESRB unceremoniously list it on their web page with absolutely no pageantry to be found. I guess telling the world that a game will contain “animated blood and fantasy violence” is more important than properly hyping said game to modern society. Damn you, society. Damn you and your obsession with monitoring “mild cartoon violence”.
Though Konami hasn’t said anything official about Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth, the ESRB is seldom wrong about these things. We’ll probably get an official announcement about this upcoming Wii title any second now. If this new game is anything like previously released Gradius ReBirth and Contra ReBirth, then this is cause for serious joy. So far, the ReBirth series has proven to be some of the best stuff on WiiWare, and we can hope that Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth will be no different.
Check out the full ESRB description of Castlevania Adventure ReBirth below. “Spikes or spears stained with red, blood-like splotches” confirmed!
